Which inverter brands are supported?
FoxESS is fully supported today. Sigenergy and SunGrow integration is in development and coming soon. More brands are on the roadmap — let us know which you'd like to see next.
Do I need to be an electrician or developer?
No. SoCrates connects to your inverter through the manufacturer's existing cloud API using your device serial number and API key. No hardware modifications, no coding — just copy your credentials from the inverter app and paste them into the setup wizard.
Which electricity retailers / price feeds are supported?
Currently Amber Electric (Australia) is supported for live and forecast prices. Support for additional retailers and markets is planned. Static time-of-use schedules work without any price feed.
How does automation work — is it always-on?
Yes. SoCrates runs a cloud scheduler every minute that evaluates your rules in priority order. The first rule whose conditions are all met sends a command to your inverter. You can pause automation globally with the Master toggle any time.
Is my inverter API key stored securely?
Credentials are stored encrypted in Google Firestore with per-user access rules. They are never returned to the browser after initial setup or shared with third parties.
Will the first 500 users stay free?
Yes. Early members get free access. If and when pricing changes for new sign-ups in the future, we're committed to giving early members ample notice and fair options. Right now, the focus is on building something genuinely useful.
What happens after the 500 spots fill up?
Pricing for sign-ups beyond the first 500 is TBD — community-first, nothing extractive. We'll involve early members in that conversation before anything changes. Right now, the focus is on building something genuinely useful.
